Fish 'N' Grits
2004-01-08, 3:00 p.m.

I get this newsletter. One of todays articles cracked me up. Theyre calling this new magazine Fish N Grits. I dont even wanna know why. I searched Yahoo and Google and couldnt find a website for Fish N Grits. Id have risked the wrath of the Internet Police to check out that website. Actually, since I was on my lunch hour, Id bet that my boss would find the whole thing hilarious. Where music meets porn? Anyway. I also read that my girl Beyonce is going to sing The Star Spangled Banner at Super Bowl 2004. I might even watch. At least that part.

As you can see, there is nothing really going on in my life right now. Mild family drama (one aunt is mad at everyone about Christmas.) My 16-year-old cousin has an online journal that I read and through that found her boyfriends journal which, of course, I read and found that he really is a nice boy and really cares about Erin. That was nice to read. I liked him before but now I like him even more. Hes actually a really adorable boy.

Im tired as fuck today. Last night PJH woke me up because she had chest pains and some tingling in her arms. Her mother gets angina so she was worried about it. I couldnt really get back to sleep after that so Ive pretty much been up since 4:30. Ill probably go home and take a nap before I make dinner.

Its 2:49 and no one is writing email or on dland to give me a much needed distraction. A girl can only work so much in one day! ;)

In other news, I saw on TV last night that American Idol premiers January 19. Woo hoo. There are now officially 5 TV shows I watch with some regularity: American Idol, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Queer As Folk, Sex and the City and Six Feet Under. Were planning to at least watch The L Word when it premieres. This from a girl who didnt even own a TV before she met PJH. For more than a year, I lived happily TV free and now there are 6 shows that I love! How can I not have cable and miss Queer Eye? Ive even been thinking about getting TiVo so that I can watch The Ellen DeGeneres show and maybe A Makeover Story. God. Ive reverted to my teen years. I knew I should have gotten a degree in journalism or something and headed off to NYC to work for a fashion magazine.
